When Forward Error Correction is enabled, a special parity packet is sent for every group of 5, 10 or 20 packets.

If a packet in the group is lost, the lost packet will be reconstructed in real time. The real time reconstruction of lost packets delivered by FEC adds an additional acceleration benefit in conjunction with the other Wanos PLR and TCP Acceleration features. FEC is available since Wanos version 4.1

Important Configuration Notes:

  • FEC is an optional feature that can be enabled when required.
  • When enabled, configure both ends of the link.
  • Configure both sides with the same FEC ratio setting.
