IT Partnership & OEM

Yes, an OEM agreement is not required since it pertains to software. Please register as a partner and provide a link to the product so that we can market it for you.

Plus

For a network deployment of one head office site with three remote branches or a total of four sites, four keys would be needed.

Yes, please email us the registration tokens found under the license tab to generate the demo keys.

To optimize this one remote site, two 10/100 Mbps keys will be sufficient. All other traffic not destined to the optimized site can be bypassed.

6/60 Mbps would provide sufficient capacity to take full advantage of the VPN upload and download rates.

20/200 Mbps would be suited to get the full WAN capacity outbound towards the remote branches.

Please use the contact forms or email us at info @ wanos.co for a quote. Either PayPal or standard bank payments are available.

Plus includes support and also unlocks more throughput and number of remote sites. Certain features are only supported in Plus.

We encourage all users to provide feedback. Companies that are prepared to upgrade to plus by sponsoring a feature should please get in touch.

A license key is loaded to match the optimized bandwidth. For example: 10 Mbps symmetrical optimized bandwidth requires a 10/100 key.
10 Mbps up and 50 Mbps down requires a 10/100 key.
A main site with a 100 Mbps symmetrical link, serving remote sites at a total of 20 Mbps outbound optimized traffic, requires a 20/200 key.
Pass-through traffic is not counted. Limits apply to optimized traffic only.

Plus is for companies that require support and additional features.

Express

Express is not recommended as a Plus trial substitute.

Express is intended for small deployments. Each client can request a max of 2 Express licenses.

To upgrade the default Express limits, please contact support to request and load new Express keys. See activating license.

Due to discounted hardware prices Wanos Appliances require a plus key.

Mixing Express with Plus versions are not supported and in most instances not compatible. One Plus site does not upgrade all Free and Express sites to Plus support. Features specific to Plus may not be compatible with Express versions. Due to the complexities of mixing Express and Plus, only Express support is available since this design voids professional Plus support e.g. Companies that have a Plus at a hub site and Express at the remote sites.

Express versions released as completely free perpetual licensed products do not expire, ever. Free & Express products with upgraded bandwidth require annual renewal. See the products page for the latest info on free Express versions.

Express is limited to v.3.2.3 and earlier, a max total licenses per client and does not include support. The Express license also limits max throughput and remote optimized peer sites. See the Wan Optimization products page for more details.

Express excludes professional support. Express is limited to the community support forum. Companies that are interested in Plus, but need initial proof of concept support, please contact us for a trial.

Express is a fully functional version of Wanos that is limited on the number of remote sites. Perpetual Express versions released free, will always be free. See the products page for the latest free Express version and applicable limits.

More

Wan Bandwidth Optimization and Wan Bandwidth Compression are terms generally used to refer to Wan Optimization and Wan Acceleration.

Wan Compression, also known as Bandwidth Compression, is one technique used by Wan Optimization appliances to reduce network bandwidth through compression techniques. The result is that more traffic can traverse the wan and this accelerates network throughput.

A Wan Accelerator is a physical or virtual appliance with the function of performing Wan Acceleration.

A Wan Optimizer is a physical or virtual appliance with the function of performing Wan Optimization.

Wan Optimization and Wan Acceleration are techniques and methods that maximize the efficiency of data traffic flow across network connections. The fundamental objective of wan optimization is to reduce link utilization, which translates into increased network speed or wan acceleration.

A Wan Optimization Controller is a Network Optimization Switch (NOS). Wan Optimization is NOS for the network. A Wan Optimization Controller (WOC) is an unfortunate term coined for Wan Optimization and Wan Acceleration appliances. We prefer the term NOS: Network Optimization Switch.

SD Wan Optimization and Wan Acceleration are techniques and methods that maximize the efficiency of data traffic flow across network connections. The fundamental objective of wan optimization is to reduce link utilization, which translates into increased network speed or wan acceleration. Additionally TCP Acceleration, Packet Loss Recovery and Forward Error Correction overcome poor link conditions to ensure a high quality experience for the end-user.

Technical

Can Wan Optimization work with only one appliance? Unfortunately in order to get the best reduction rates a minimum of two wan optimization appliances are needed to learn network traffic patterns.
