Where path selection is used
- Load balance between MPLS and broadband fibre.
- Move bandwidth-intensive traffic to a secondary broadband link.
- Fail over all traffic to a standby gateway when the primary path fails its SLA.
Options
- Primary and secondary paths: a gateway address for each path.
- Max latency: the latency threshold, in milliseconds, before an alternate path is used.
- Multi-WAN: uses multiple gateways at the same time.
- Fail over: all traffic fails over to the standby (secondary) gateway.
- Preempt: the primary gateway takes its role back whenever the primary path meets the SLA conditions again.
- Track peer: the detected Wanos peers to track for failover.
Requirements
Path selection needs two networks and a detected Wanos peer. It works together with TCP acceleration, quality of service and WAN optimization on the same appliance.
