Traffic is not flowing through the Bridge
This section is specific to ESXi vSwitch configuration
Symptom
The virtual appliance seems to have booted up correctly, but traffic is not flowing through the bridge. Lan0 and Wan0 are connected and cabled correctly.
Solution
Promiscuous Mode needs to be enabled for each interface and they should be in different Port Groups.
Caveats
Issues may occur when promiscuous mode is enabled on the vSwitch level and at the same time the Port Groups level. It is recommended to enable promiscuous mode on the port group level only.
