WAN Optimization of Encrypted Protocols

Ineffective Features

Encrypted protocols like SSH, HTTPS may not be optimized since they are encrypted. Each transfer of the same data is encrypted differently when sent across the WAN, which reduces the efficiency of compression and deduplication to 0%. To restore the functionality of these features, encryption can be disabled on the application server or client.

Enabled Features

Quality of Service features like Traffic Shaping, DSCP Tagging and Priority Queuing and Packet Loss Recovery can be configured for encrypted protocols. Visibility and NetFlow exports are also available for these protocols.
