Cabling guide for VirtualBox
« on: November 18, 2016, 10:26:41 AM »
Hi,
I've downloaded the VHD Image and created 4 VMs (2x Windows 10 PCs, and 2x WANOS) and cabled it the following way:

Server <--> ServerLAN <--> WANOS_Serverside <--> WAN <--> WANOS_Clientside <--> ClientLAN <--> Client

Server = Windows PC IP: 10.5.1.1 / 8
WANOS_Serverside IP: 10.5.1.3 / 8
WANOS_Clientside IP: 10.5.2.3 / 8
Client = WindowsPC IP: 10.5.2.1 / 8

So the are all in the same IP Subnet

ServerLAN, WAN and ClientLAN are all virtual internal LANs created with Virtualbox

In this szenario I can only ping from one wanos to another - nothing else, neither client to WANOS work, nor client to server Ping

Where is the error?

Okay I've set the Virtual NIC of the WANos VMs in "promiscous mode" - this seems to work now

Yup, was about to say either mac spoofing if Hyper-V or promiscuous if ESXi / Virtualbox
