HI There
These are the ones i can think of:
- Bidirectional Optimization
- Current Optimized Connections
- Reporting on Saved traffic type
- WAFS
- Encrypted Exchange Optimization
- Peering
Thanks

Hope the Plus version will be competitive with Riverbed Steelhead Appliance, for example.
During my read, These are some of the technique used in Steelhead which I hope it will be implemented in Wanos as well:
Data streamlining:
Multilayer Data compression.
SDR (Scalable Data referencing) algorithm. SDR breaks up TCP data into unique data chunks, each chunk has a reference number, where when the same byte sequence occurs in future transmission, the reference number is only sent across the LAN instead of raw data chunks.
Files and data can be accelerated even when they are transferred using different protocols such: FTP, CIFS (shared files) … etc.
For example: MS Exchange uses MAPI protocol to encode file attachments, CDR de-code it before send it and see if there is any ready transferred reference regardless which transferring protocol was used.
Transport streamlining:
Connection pooling: This is useful in short-lived TCP connections. The product creates pools of idle TCP connection (for HTTP as example), where when a client tries to create a new connection to a previously visited target, it uses one from its pool, which, in turns, overcomes three-way TCP handshake.
Can enable something called HS-TCP (High-Speed TCP), and MX-TCP (Maximum TCP).
Application streamlining:
The product reduces the number of round trips over WAN for common actions (openin/editing remote shred files/folders), it supports most of intended protocols: CIFS, MAPI, HTTP … etc.

Hi Ahmed, cross application/protocol/flow deduplication is already available in express.
TCP Pooling only makes sense if you have to overcome the overhead of daisy chaining proxies ala Riverbed.
Silver-Peak would be a better comparison than Riverbed.

Hi Antonie,
Continuing to the wish list:
1- Multisite Report from the CORE screen
2- Export reports
3- Datastore (File/content) Browsing
Thank you.

Thanks for the request. Yes, good point about the per peer reports, definitely adding as a priority item. The list has been updated.
The datastore consists of random byte strings. Perhaps we can solve this request in another way.
-
On dash/graph reporting:
- to have in the same (stacked?) graph, LAN-in vs WAN-out to see the saved bandwith.
- to have a total average of bandwith optimization (i.e. 4.5x).
Thanks in advance,
Luis.

Yes, I agree, previously this was available but inaccurate since bypassed traffic was included as well. Coming soon.

Hi Ant
A few requests before i forget them:
Dashboard -> Display connections stats. Number of optimized, Pass through, percentage difference, percentage optimization (all of these stats to 5min)
Configure -> Traffic Policies -> Traffic policy description
Configure -> Traffic Policies -> Traffic policy Port Labels
Configure -> Traffic Policies -> Traffic policy Host Labels
Configure -> Enable or disable optimization (CIFS,HTTP,MAPI,LDAP,MAIL[pop3,smtp],etc)
Configure -> QOS Separate to traffic policies (IN,OUT)
Reports -> Network -> Protocols -> Sorting on protocols
Reports -> Network -> Protocols -> Throughput per protocols
Reports -> Network ->Peer Stats -> Ability to Rename "Default" peer in GUI
Reports -> Network -> Sessions -> Display number of sort results
Reports -> Network -> Sessions -> Sort by type, optimised or pass through
Reports - Retain data longer than 24 hours.
SSL optimization
Thanks

Thanks spoonzw, added to the list.

a very simple request... please show the name of the appliance in browser tab.... :)
-
Sure, thanks, will do :)
-
Out of Path via L3 routing + VRRP for failover would be fantastic.
-
Thanks,
Edit: Primary GW to Secondary Fail-Over with preemption and round trip latency tracking has been added in v.4.0.4
Beta Out of path with Layer3 routing or PBR is available from v2.0.3
Fail-over with VRRP is currently possible in bridge mode if a router is handling L3 + VRRP.

Perhaps this is more of a feature request, but it would be really nice if you could export and import configurations. Perhaps in xml format similar to pfSense.
Also, it would be nice to have the ability to edit traffic policies, rather than delete/re-add to change rules.
While im making suggestions... Ever consider developing a pfsense plugin? I cant imagine a better way to really reach a ton of networks. Im sure this is much easier said than done though ;-).
A quick "bypass mode" option similar to what I have seen on riverbed would be another nice option. I know this can be done with traffic policies, but a quick way to bypass all traffic would be useful.

Hi Jeremy,
The config export & import has lately been requested more frequently and I agree, it is becoming a need to have.
I like the quick bypass option versus a manual bypass policy rule. I'll add this to the Optimization levels e.g Off, Low, High.
The pfSense integration topic comes up a lot and one of those delicious projects that is easy to get into, hard to get done. I have also been wondering whether to port permanently to pfSense as a platform is viable.
I know one or two have [tried to] integrate Wanos on pfSense via KVM, but not sure how successful the end product was in production. Perhaps via the OEM option someone will sponsor the dev work for a Wanos - pfSense plugin, since I agree, it would be a great option.
Ok, will consider the edit policy rule option. Think Anil asked the same thing.
I'll move this to 'feature requests' to keep track of progress.

Ability to edit a policy is done.
-
a very simple request... please show the name of the appliance in browser tab.... :)
IP or if configured DNS name is now displayed in the tab. If hostname is preferred, we can use that.
-
Excellent. Thanks for the quick responses. Wanos is looking more impressive every day!

Hi,
not really a feature, but it would be nice to have a changelog with every update, in the download or update section for example.
I can see there a 3.2.3 version release, but no clue if the update worth it since we don't know what has been fixed... :-\
-
Hi Emmanuel,
The new changelog can be found here: http://wanos.co/docs/docs/knowledgebase/changelog/
I'll update the other threads as well.
